Bringing a Health Education Brand to Life Online
The Ultimate Health Model is a transformative health education platform created by author and health coach Benjamin Smith. At the heart of the brand is a compelling book that simplifies how lifestyle choices influence chronic disease and optimal health, visualized through a color-coded model.
When Benjamin first reached out to me, he had a vision: a book in the works, whimsical characters already illustrated, and a powerful message to share—but no brand, logo, or website to bring it all together. That’s where I came in.
From Book Concept to Bold Digital Experience
Working closely with Benjamin, I designed a logo that felt aligned with the spirit of his characters and his message. Using his existing illustrations as a foundation, I created a vibrant, engaging website that communicates his health model in a clear, creative, and memorable way.
The site design mirrors Benjamin’s personality—bold, imaginative, and deeply committed to helping people understand their health. With bright colors, creative typography, and animated visuals, every element was crafted to keep users engaged and curious. We consciously broke from conventional health site aesthetics, opting instead for a bold, playful, and story-driven approach that invites exploration.
Strategy Meets Storytelling
This wasn’t just a visual project. We spent many hours collaborating on how best to present the content. Benjamin’s original drafts were deep and detailed, so I helped distill them into bite-sized insights—just enough to intrigue visitors and encourage deeper engagement without overwhelming them. Sometimes I wrote and he edited, and sometimes he wrote and I refined.
The layout strategy evolved through thoughtful experimentation. For example, we chose overlapping font treatments and thematic icons to reflect his model’s topics and values. On the contact page, I added a sidebar with helpful prompts and a category selector to guide visitors in reaching out effectively. And instead of launching a full success stories page too early, we introduced a bold red button inviting users to share their stories—a softer launch that fit the site’s growth.
Growing and Evolving Together
As Benjamin’s platform expanded, so did the site. I added a recommendations page aligned with his health philosophy, supported his podcast and YouTube integrations, and updated the header to accommodate growing media outreach—all while maintaining clarity and visual harmony. Though the site uses several rich graphics, I carefully optimized all assets and implemented WP Rocket to ensure it remained fast and user-friendly.
Results That Resonate
The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Visitors regularly comment on how unique, engaging, and enjoyable the site is. Benjamin has shared how thrilled he is with how the site turned out—and so have many others.
Most of all, this project is a reflection of what happens when great ideas meet thoughtful design and genuine collaboration. Benjamin and I became not only creative partners, but close friends through the process—a testament to how meaningful web design can truly be.
